Fabrication of Porous Aluminum Coating by Cored Wire Arc Spray for Anchoring Antifouling Hydrogel Layer

Biofouling has been persisting as a worldwide problem due to the difficulties in finding efficient environment-friendly antifouling coatings for long-term applications. Developing novel with desired properties one of research goals surface coating community. Recently hydrogel was proposed serve layer, it offers advantages ease incorporating green biocides, and resisting attachment microorganisms by its soft surface. Yet poor adhesion on steel surfaces is big concern. In this study, porous matrix aluminum were fabricated cored wire arc spray, sizes pores (Al) controlled altering size powder sodium chloride. Silicone further deposited coating. The penetrated into open Al coatings, structure significantly enhanced hydrogel. addition, exhibited very encouraging properties.
